Ingleton Parish Council are celebrating their state-of-the-art play area. The £130,000 play area has been made possible by the efforts of Ingleton Parish Council, it is “fantastic” quoted a local parent and “the children love it”. Ingleton Parish Regeneration Association have been dedicated to fundraising for the project since the 2001 foot and mouth outbreak, with the aim of attracting tourists back to the area.
Playdale originally provided the old play area in 1988. And were delighted to provide the new area, which is now “one of the best facilities of its kind in the region” as stated by Phil Walker – Ingleton Parish Councillor.
This exciting state-of-the-art play area now consists of a large Rock and Roll unit form the Jukebox range scaling 4.6meters high, a 1.8m Cone Climber, an Encounter Teenage Seating unit, Interactive Play Panels, Swings, Glenduckie toddler unit from the Little Hamlets range, Springers and much more. The area caters for all ages and abilities, is DDA compliant and contains wetpour safety surfacing throughout It can be enjoyed by local residents as well as visiting tourists.
Playdale supported Ingleton Parish Council throughout their project, providing a free comprehensive play consultancy and design service. Ingleton were delighted to be working with Playdale to refurbish the area and its “magnificent replacement”. Funding for the play area came from a variety of sources and thanks to a 12 month advanced contribution from Dalesmoor Homes, who released £45,000 as part of a legal agreement attached to planning permission for a development nearby, The play area was installed ahead of schedule. Other funds came from the excellent and dedicated efforts of the parish council, a grant from Living spaces Fund and Hanson Trust.
The play area is designed to a high standard and Playdale are delighted to have worked on such a project with a dedicated community team. The play area has been a huge improvement for Ingleton and has raised Ingletons’ profile as a tourist centre.
