Edgings
The clever use of different edging systems in a play area can be used to create boundaries and pathways around play equipment without the use of fencing.
- Brickset: Available in two colours, red and buff. Brickset creates a flush, hardwearing, durable edging for organic shaped areas.
- Log Edging: Two types are available, traditional log edging or machined log edging. The traditional option is best for low level edging requirements with the machined option being most suitable for higher levels or for retaining. Both are pressure treated to protect against rot and infestation with a chamfered top.
- Square Sawn: Available at various heights, square sawn edging is pressure treated and installed vertically, outside edges are dressed to remove sharp edges.
Pathways
Pathways are important for creating a flow through a play space and are always designed to be compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
- Crushed Stone Pathways: Compacted to give a very hardwearing and decorative pathway throughout a play area. Available in Gold, Silver and Red.
- Boardwalk: Used to create raised pathways throughout an area, boardwalk is 1.4m wide and installed approximately 20cm above the surrounding ground. A low level timber kerb reduces the risk of pushchairs or wheelchairs coming off the side. A timber handrail is also available if required
Decking
Square, angular or radius shapes are available as a feature area of timber decking. Our Lakeland Tables can be positioned in these areas to provide a comfortable seating area for parents or carers. Decking compliments any play equipment and Natural Play area.
