Our Sales & Marketing Director Barry Leahey was a guest speaker at UKTI’s Winning Business in Japan & Korea event this week and had the chance to meet rugby league legend Paul Sculthorpe.
The event took place at the home of St Helen’s Rugby Club, Langtree Park, and was aimed at giving UK businesses advice and knowledge on how to succeed in export by using some of UKTI’s services.
Barry was in the hot-seat as part of a panel who gave some valuable insights into how Playdale have been successful in the export markets, hoping to inspire other businesses to take a leap of faith and do the same.
A tour of the rugby ground followed and then Barry, along with UKTI’s Regional Director Clive Drinkwater, met with the former Great Britain international and St Helen’s legend, Paul Sculthorpe. They had the chance to have their photograph taken with him and swap stories on how to win on foreign soil, something that Paul has done on the big stage in his club and international career.
Paul was already an acquaintance of Barry but we we’re pleased to see that he took the time to mention us in the Tweet below!
