Location: Norfolk

Three years of hard work and persistence from Dersingham Parish Council has finally got the community a play area that they can be proud of and children will enjoy for many years.

The Recreation Ground Play Area refurbishment project began in October 2011 and, following over six months of planning and consultation events at the recreation ground and local school, eventually was put out to tender. Playdale were delighted to be chosen as the preferred supplier and had a great working relationship with the Parish Council throughout the process.

Following an initial unsuccessful grant bid in 2013 phase 1 of the project was funded by the Parish Council. However, their persistence and determination paid off a year later and they were successful in achieving a grant from WREN, meaning that they could order phase 2 and complete the play area.

The exciting playground features an Aerial Runway, Board Rider, Aero Tilt, Spinner, Jukebox climbing frame, Encounter Shelter, Play Panels and Inclusive Orbit, as well as a challenging toddler area.

Councillor Suzy Daniels, Dersingham Parish Council, was delighted with the new playground, saying:

“I want to personally thank Playdale for all their help. The result is fantastic, we have had nothing but positive comments and the playground is well used, busy most of the time. Radio Norfolk even used the Aerial Runway as one of their clues in ‘Treasure Quest’ last Sunday!”

Suzy also had some kind words to say about Playdale’s Area Manager, Will Desborough, who worked closely with her on the project, saying:

“It was a pleasure completing the project with Will, thank you.”
