Leader of the Liberal Democrat party Tim Farron, zoomed into Leven Village Playing Fields recently, to officially open their new Aerial Runway.
The sun shone as the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale cut the ribbon and declared the ‘Zip Wire’ open!
A crowd of pupils, staff and parents from Levens C of E Primary School greeted Mr Farron and couldn’t wait to give him a good starting push as he jumped on board the runway seat!
The new Aerial Runway has been purchased and installed thanks to the fantastic efforts of the Levens Playing Fields Committee along with the many local businesses and villagers who reached their fundraising target by organising numerous events & activities.
The Lib Dem leader seemed pleased to escape the pressures of political life for the afternoon, and have some fun in his constituency!
