Fundraising to help change young livesTuesday, 22nd November 2016 3:53 pm
Playdale staff added a few spots, flashes of yellow, superhero costumes and Pudsey Bear accessories to their work wear on Friday 18th November, to raise money for BBC Children in Need. Money raised will go to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Donations steadily dropped into the collection box throughout the day, ensuring that everyone ticked the Gift Aid box so that an additional 25% can be claimed by Children in Need on top of our fundraising total.
During the day, a fun competition was held to boost donations further entitled ‘How many spots are there on Peter Andre’s cake’.
The answer (to this tricky question!) was 821 and we had a variety of answers ranging from 390 to 1800! Our lucky winner was extremely close at 720!!
Playdale supports this fantastic event each year and past fundraising ideas have included (male!) leg waxing, Man Vs Food contests, cake sales and fancy dress days.
We managed to raise a total of £76 for this worthy cause this year and had lots of fun in the process. We even had the pleasure of Wonder Woman and Iron Man’s company for the day!
BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the Appeal. Whether through cake sales, quizzes or dress ups, every penny of the money raised goes towards supporting projects across the UK.
