Children are becoming less active which is threatening the health of future generations.
There are many benefits to exercising outdoors including; improvements in wellbeing, happiness, increasing vitamin D production, improve heart strength and meeting other people. Regular exercise also helps you to lose weight, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and strengthen your bones.

Depression is a complex illness causing low moods and physical symptoms such as aches and pains. The condition affects 25% of the British population every year. Studies by King’s College London suggest that 150 minutes exercise a week makes you 31% less likely to develop depression. Participating in some form of exercise helps to relieve depression rather than no exercise at. Exercise helps to stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine in the brain which helps to make you feel better.
March to September are the best months to get all of the vitamin D you need from the sun. Vitamin D helps to strengthen bones and muscles. Other sources of the sunshine vitamin include; oily fish, red meat, liver, egg yolks and fortified breakfast cereals. Lack of vitamin D causes rickets which causes skeletal deformities.
People lose weight through exercise because it helps them to burn more calories than they burn. Doing strength exercises which increase muscle mass makes your body more efficient at burning fat. Push-ups, crunches, lunges and press ups are good ways to burn calories.
