Welcome back to Playdale’s Picnic & Play ‘where to’ series of regular news articles about parks with play areas in the Playdale regions across the UK, which are particularly popular for families during the holiday periods.
This week we’re going across to East Anglia. Will Desborough our Regional Manager for East Anglia has suggested three family friendly parks and playgrounds for you to try. There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the whole of this beautiful part of the country, so you won’t struggle to find one near you. Taverham Mill, Taverham, Norwich, Norfolk NR8 6TA
Taverham Mill is one of the most attractive spots in East Anglia and is situated by an old weir and mill pool on the river Wensum. The site covers 100 acres and is divided into four lakes, a stretch of the River Wensum, forest and fenland.
Included on the site are two small weir pools, a newly refurbished visitor centre, tackle shop and plenty of areas to walk, picnic & enjoy the surroundings. A children’s playground is located adjacent to the visitor centre. The adventure playground includes a number of items from our ever popular Adventure Trail range, an Aero Tilt, Play Panels and Swings.
Walgrave Village Hall & Playing Fields Playground, Newland Road, Walgrave, Northamptonshire, NN6 9PZ
Walgrave Village Hall & Playing Field Association in Northamptonshire is a fantastic outdoor amenity for both children and adults; as it includes outdoor fitness equipment in the form of our Trim Trail. There is a large, exciting new recreational space with sports based playground and exercise equipment, as well as everyday favourites. The featured play items here include; our inclusive Team Swing, the Board Rider, an Aerial Runway, an Aero Tilt, a Spinner and the Inclusive Orbit roundabout. The entire recreation area is the perfect place to picnic, walk, relax and of course play.
Bredfield Village Playground, Bredfield, Suffolk, IP13 6AR
The delightful village of Bredfield offers a community shop, pub and playground and is surrounded by country lanes for walking and cycling. The village playing fields & playground offer a fantastic spot to play, picnic and walk in this pretty Suffolk spot. This site offers climbing units from our Little Hamlets Plus and Jukebox Plus ranges, Swings, a Jungle Climber, Tunnel, Playhouse and an Apollo Bouncer.
Nearby is the market town of Woodbridge, with an active harbour with sailing boats and lovely riverside walks. Further afield is the vibrant city of Ipswich. The beautiful Suffolk coastline offers places to visit which include Orford Ness, the renowned Snape Maltings and the popular seaside town of Aldeburgh as well as several nature reserves and RSPB sites to enjoy.
