Picnic & Play…in Kent

Friday, 15th July 2016 4:59 pm

Welcome back to Picnic & Play; Playdale’s ‘where to’ series of regular news articles about parks with play areas in the Playdale regions across the UK, which are particularly popular for families during the holiday periods. When you can find a great park with exciting play equipment to suit all ages and space to relax over a picnic what more do you need? So we’re going to help you find some!

This week we’re in ‘The Garden of England’, Kent. Jill Watson our Regional Manager for the South of England has suggested three family friendly parks and playgrounds for you to try. There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the whole of the South East, so you won’t struggle to find one near you. Click here to view these on our reference map and to find out more about Jill.

Relax with a tasty picnic while your children enjoy the array of fantastic play equipment & lovely surroundings!

Pepenbury Pembury within news story

Pepenbury is a wonderful place for all the family to visit. You will find it nestled in 100 acres of unspoilt High Weald countryside just outside Tunbridge Wells. With 26 acres of ancient bluebell woods, hay meadows, ponds and a small fruit orchard, this idyllic setting is an absolute haven for wildlife. Keep your eyes open and you may spot all three species of British Woodpecker or even their smallest bird, the Goldcrest. Besides the woodlands, there is also a small farm, where their residents care for animals including donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. The small animals are a particular hit with young children who will also enjoy our outdoor gym and woodland trail. There is also a nursery, where you can buy very reasonably priced plants and organically grown fruit and vegetables, and whilst there, why not enjoy some refreshments at the Pepenbury Coffee Shop?
