Summer is here and so are the school holidays! Children need entertaining once again during the long summer break. When you can find a great park with exciting play equipment to suit all ages and space to relax over a picnic what more do you need? So we’re going to help you find some!
Welcome back to Playdale’s Picnic & Play ‘where to’ series of regular news articles about parks with play areas in the Playdale regions across the UK, which are particularly popular for families during the holiday periods.
This week we’re in the heart of the UK –  in South & West Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Richard Cocker our Regional Manager for this area has suggested three family friendly parks and playgrounds for you to try. There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the whole of this part of the country, so you won’t struggle to find one near you. The Ponderosa Rural Therapeutic Centre was established by a group of people who wanted to help bridge the gap between disabled and able bodied people. The Rare Breed Farm has grown over the years and there are now pigs, peacocks, highland cows, goats, horses, donkeys, birds of prey, llamas, several different kinds of birds and many, many more.

There is also now the amazing NEW Ponderosa Adventure Playground with plenty of outdoor and covered areas to have a picnic alongside the fun. The main attraction here is the Everest Plus from our Mountain Towers Plus range which provides hours of adrenaline-pumping fun.  The Ice Cream Parlour, along with the Lakeside Restaurant are both lovely for either a sit down meal, snack or ice cream – all with lovely gardens and surroundings. There is an entry fee to Ponderosa but it is excellent value for money.
