Now in its fourth year, the Playdale Festive Football Tournament was once again a successful night of good sport and fun! Playdale staff from across the business, including our UK wide Area Managers, joined in the fun tournament last night. The emphasis was on fun and team building but there was, of course, a bit of healthy competition thrown in for good measure too!
Unfortunately, it was what you may call classic northern winter weather; another wet, cold and drizzly one! Five teams from a variety of departments took part and a healthy number of supporters braved the dreary conditions to egg them all on! The participating teams were:
Designamo Kiev
Sales Supremos
Unbelievable Techers
Production Posse
Incredible Installation
The lively matches began in earnest and within seconds the competitive natures were out in force. Round 1 matches saw Production Posse see off Designamo Kiev 4-0 with Ben Hodgson scoring TWO goals. Sales Supremos scored a narrow 1-0 victory over the installation team.
Production Posse managed to maintain their 100% record with a 2-0 win over the Sales Supremos. Meanwhile, a closely fought encounter saw the Unbelievable Techers make a winning start to their campaign coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2!
Round 3 matches resulted in a 1-1 draw between Unbelievable Techers and the Sales Supremos. Production Posse then made it 3 wins out of 3…demolishing the installation team 4-0.
Both games in round 4 ended 3-2 with Designamo Kiev losing their third straight game 3-2 to Incredible Installation – who at this point picked up their first points of the tournament. Unbelievably the Unbelievable Techers beat Production Posse 3-2 ending their winning streak thus far in the tournament.
With it all to play for, the final round of matches saw Unbelievable Techers book their final place with a 2-1 win over Incredible Installation whilst Designamo Kiev picked up their first points in their ‘grudge match’ with the Sales Supremos.

Designamo Kiev secured themselves into the 3rd Place Play-Offs on goals scored, and faced the Sales Supremos who were looking for payback! Some fantastic saves from both goalies Darren Moore & Karis Tippett ensured the match went to penalties. Emma Sture secured a double by scoring Designamo Kiev’s winning penalty! Go Emma!
The two top teams- Production Posse and Unbelievable Techers played out an intense final. Production Posse certainly made up for their early defeat by running out 2-0 winners with goals from Matt McGinley and Paul Mallinson.

Playdale’s Chairman John Croasdale awarded prizes to the winning team and then it was off to the pub for everyone to enjoy some well-earned refreshments together!
