Funding your play equipment

Playdale can help you secure funding for your play equipment.

There are a number of opportunities to obtain funding for local community playgrounds, schools play areas and sports projects. To assist our customers in their search for play equipment funding we have listed some useful website links below. 

New funding information!

The Kids Trust has announced that schools within the UK that wish to improve their play spaces have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Playground Partnerships Awards. Visit www.playgroundpartnerships.org for more information.

Schools: If you are involved in school fundraising and want to transform your school play area with fantastic new play equipment then you should be reading "Fundraising for Schools" magazine. Visit http://www.fundraisingschools.co.uk/ This monthly magazine provides up-to-date and accurate information about all the sources of extra funding from which your school playground could benefit. Also visit http://www.grants4schools.info/portal/index.asp for further ideas on how to find funds for school playground equipment.

Landfill Communities Fund Scheme: Grants are available to improve community playgrounds for those within a certain proximity of a landfill site.

Big Lottery Fund: Every year BIG gives out millions of pounds from the National Lottery to good causes. Money goes to community groups and to projects that improve health, education and the environment.

Children in Need: A new small grants scheme has been launched for registered charities and not-for-profit organizations. Small grants of up to £10,000 are available for organizations working with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years old and under.

 

 

 

Playdale's Top 5 Playground Funding Tips

To help you in applying for a grant for new play equipment we have put together some tips to help you secure your play area funding.

  1. Always read the guidance notes and application form thoroughly before beginning the application.  
  2. Make contact with the grant awarding body to ask questions and discuss ideas before an application is submitted.
  3. Demonstrate clearly the needs of the project and why it is important that these needs are met and state the benefits of the project community/school.
  4. Answer all questions on the application form in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Remember to submit any documents the grant awarding body has requested such as annual accounts or quotations.
