Case Studies

Making smiles at Millom Playground

Millom Town Council worked alongside Copeland Borough Council and the local community to raise funds to create ‘the best play area in the North West’ that would provide a real boost to the young people of Millom and bring visitors and tourism to this small coastal town situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

Gressenhalls amazing adventure playground in the heart of Norfolk countryside

‘The Playdale team worked closely with us to develop a vibrant theme for our new adventure playground at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, which is a unique site. The designs presented by Playdale fitted in with our woodland and heritage environment really well. The installation of the new playground equipment came with complications including a challenging split level location, active protected wildlife and the Covid-19 lockdown but the Playdale team were flexible and were able to deliver a fantastic looking adventure playground area for us despite some challenges along the way. Our visitors are now enjoying the play equipment and the new bespoke tower units certainly complement the woodland surroundings and have the wow factor we were hoping to achieve.’ Andrew Smith, Operations Manager, Norfolk Museums Service

Transformation: from disused land to a wonderful woodland park!

Pantside is a small residential area set in the rolling hills of Newbridge in Caerphilly, Wales. This play project came to fruition due to the lack of outdoor play facilities in the village. In October 2018 Pantside Association of Residents and Tenants (PART) secured £250,000 of National Lottery’s Big Lottery funding to install not one, but two new play areas and a multi-use games area (MUGA) for the whole community to enjoy!

This playground will create a fun area for children and their families visiting the hospital. We wanted the playground to have a positive social impact on the community by creating opportunities for play and fun.

"Playdale’s design was chosen as it provided a good balance between challenge and design within a competitive price. The scheme was installed without issue and was well received by the community. Playdale and their contractors worked very well and the park is proving very popular."
