About me:
Born in Lancaster but moved up to the Lake District when I was six. Studied Mechanical & Production Engineering for 4 years at Kendal and then Newcastle and joined Playdale full time when I finished my course. Became Technical Manager in 1994 and progressed to Technical & Operations Director in 2004. I have four children who are useful ‘Playground Test Engineers’. A keen mountain biker, a local footballer in my day, and I now coach the local junior team who my eldest son plays for.
Best thing about my job:
I love seeing new products being designed, developed and implemented into production to a high standard of quality. Seeing our vast range of in-house designed products produced in the Playdale factory and successfully installed on thousands of play areas throughout the world gives a real sense of achievement, purpose and makes me feel proud of what we do.
Favourite playground:
Allithwaite Play Area. A good mix of Playdale products on a well used local play area in the village where I live. It provides a wide range of activities for all ages of children and it serves the local community well, including my own children.
