Joined Playdale
1996 – when the current Playdale head office premises first opened
About me:
I grew up in Haverthwaite village, just down the road from Playdale and lived close to its owners and founders, the Croasdale family. As a child, I spent many an hour playing on early Playdale prototypes and equipment at the nearby Leven Valley Playing Fields!
I started my Playdale career as an office junior, helping the then bookkeeper with filing. Her work interested me, so after studying A Level Business Studies & Accounting in my own time, I progressed into the Accounts Team. During the years that followed I undertook AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) training and then studied to become a qualified member of CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). All my training and studying was done in the evenings and weekends and I was greatly supported by Playdale.
Working my way through all the various roles in the Accounts Team I progressed from Team Leader to Finance Manager and then in 2018, I became Financial Controller with a place on the Management Board.
When I’m not working my spare time is filled spending time with our new puppy and my 9-year-old son. He’s one of Playdale’s test engineers and loves putting the prototypes through their paces!
Best thing about my job:
Since joining Playdale (all those years ago!) I’ve seen the company grow and evolve…and I’ve grown with it. I feel privileged to be leading a team in which I’ve worked and experienced each and every one of their roles over the years.
Favourite playground:
I used to love taking my son to the all-timber Playdale playground at Cartmel as well as the one at the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway. Now he’s getting older he wants to visit bigger and more exciting playgrounds such as the one at Barrow Park with its Mountain Tower and electronic i.play unit.
Our collaboration and partnership with Playdale have exceeded our expectations. The delivered equipment arrived as promised, adhering to agreed-upon timelines and accompanied by comprehensive installation instructions. It’s essential to highlight that our relationship with Playdale transcends mere business; it is characterised by professionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to honouring agreements and deadlines. The team at Playdale consistently demonstrates openness in consultations, freely sharing valuable knowledge across all levels.
After 15 years of maintaining all play equipment brands in Ireland, Murphy Playgrounds can confirm that Playdale play equipment needs minimal maintenance compared to any other international brand, a testament to the quality of Playdale playground equipment.
Thank you to Danielle at Playdale Playgrounds for helping us at The SENAD Group to provide playground upgrades across our properties as required, the design and advice service has been excellent to allow us to find the correct equipment to meet our students sensory and activity needs whilst ensuring the equipment fits in the spaces we have and is finished to a high standard.
