About me:

I live in a village just outside the beautiful City of Cambridge with my wife and two kids, a great area to walk, cycle and of course, use the local play facilities. Outside of my work life, I love to swim as regularly as possible and have recently begun to complete in swimming masters competitions with my local swimming club. Both my children are also members of the club and I sit on the club committee and am also a qualified swimming judge. I also love cooking………especially for friends and family.

Best thing about my job:

Working with customers on developing new play spaces is fantastic and it’s what makes my job worthwhile. Delivering an exciting play area can really affect a community.

Favourite playground:

My most satisfying playground project to date has to be working with Lexden Springs Special School in Colchester. From a blank canvas I worked with the school to create a very successful play space for the whole school to use – it was a great joy to see the final installation completed and the children enjoying the space. Please see the project on my play area reference map.

What our customers say...

The Playdale team worked closely with us to develop a vibrant theme for our new adventure playground at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, which is a unique site. The designs presented by Playdale fitted in with our woodland and heritage environment really well. The installation of the new playground equipment came with complications including a challenging split level location, active protected wildlife and the Covid-19 lockdown but the Playdale team were flexible and were able to deliver a fantastic looking adventure playground area for us despite some challenges along the way. Our visitors are now enjoying the play equipment and the new bespoke tower units certainly complement the woodland surroundings and have the wow factor we were hoping to achieve.

"From point of contact to point of installation the process could not have gone any easier and more pleasurable. The children love what has been installed and I loved the fact that it required little effort from me!”
Nick Hutchings, Head Teacher, St. John’s C of E Primary School
"It gave us confidence to know that we could contact you or your colleagues at any time and receive immediate friendly advice. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for you. We are left with the impression that Playdale is a well-run company of quality"
Steve Prewer, Wat Tyler Country Park
The play area sits very well into the landscape and all of the equipment is proving to be incredibly popular with a wide age range of children.  It has brought families and children out of their houses to play and socialise in just the way we had hoped for.  We have even had coverage in the local newspaper, the Biggleswade Chronicle, copy of printed and online articles attached with a couple of additional photos.  I also have several photos of the equipment without children which I will send separately and high res copies are available if you would like to use any in your own communications. In summary, the play area although small is a real achievement for Ickwell and we would like to thank you for your help in supporting us along the journey to making it a reality.  Playdale have provided us with an excellent service, design and quality installation which we are grateful for.
