Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is, in a nutshell, Playdale taking responsibility for our effect on environmental and social well-being. It’s all about ‘giving something back’ and promoting positive social and environmental change.
Our work in this area has two main focal points:
Ongoing environmental improvements
Playdale is committed to minimising the negative impact that its business has on the natural environment. In order to do this, we have an Environmental Management System which is compliant with ISO14001 and includes consideration of the activities of both our supply chain and our subcontractors, ensuring we use sustainable approved sources of timbers and minimising, as much as possible, the production of waste and use of fuels.
Demonstrating support for our community
Playdale is committed to providing volunteer support to the local community. Playdale supports local causes and initiatives through the voluntary efforts of staff. We believe we serve our community better by providing skills and support from our team. Each year, Playdale staff members nominate good causes to support for the following year. These are then put to a company-wide staff vote, and the top two choices then become our chosen good causes for the rest of the following year.
Our 2026 Good Causes
Dalton Leisure Centre are a charity-run leisure centre local to Playdale. They are currently facing real challenges in these difficult economic times. We believe spaces like this are vital, giving people a place to connect, feel welcome, and belong, especially for those who can’t travel far from home.
Cancer Research UK is the UK’s largest independent cancer charity, working to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer through world-leading research and support for people affected by the disease. It raises and invests funds into science, trusted information and practical guidance to help patients and families cope with cancer and beat it sooner.
