In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on creating inclusive playgrounds that cater to the needs of all children. Playgrounds are a crucial part of childhood development, providing a space for children to socialise, learn, and have fun. However, traditional playgrounds often exclude children making it difficult for all children to access the same opportunities for play and physical activity. In this blog post, we will explore why choosing an Inclusive Orbit roundabout for your playground is not only beneficial for the entire community. We will discuss the unique features of the Inclusive Orbit that makes it an ideal choice for inclusive play.
The new cutting edge angular stainless-steel safety railing provides a modern aesthetically pleasing finish as well as space for standing, wheelchairs and additional seating for up to three children.
Coloured edging around the rim of the Inclusive Orbit creates a high contrast to the black platform allowing all children to play independently.
Additional seating colour option available in green to provide your playground with a pop of colour or complement its existing surroundings.
We love it so much that we have even installed one at Playdale HQ! Here is a great time-lapse video of its streamline installation.
For the installation we used Playdale Bonded Rubber Mulch which was installed by our surfacing partners DCM Surfaces.
Manufactured from stainless steel and Compact Grade Laminate, the Inclusive Orbit is paint free and requires minimal ongoing maintenance. It provides you with a 25-year guarantee against failure and additional maintenance savings! You can see our full material specification here.
The durable and smooth rotating bearing sits below ground level. This enables the floor platform to sit flush to the synthetic safety surfacing around it. A flush surface allows for easy access and transition for all users with no ramps or trip points.
The cross-hatched Compact Grade Laminate (CGL) flooring panel provides a robust non-slip surface for both wheels and feet.
