Following the success of previous charity golf events, we decided to do it again! Teams made up of Playdale staff, and local keen golfers spent a sunny afternoon putting, pitching and driving as they took part in a charity golf event to raise funds for the amazing St Mary’s Hospice and Local man, Ben Hodgson.
A fantastic £882 was raised. St Mary’s Hospice & Ben Hodgson are two of Playdale’s chosen good causes for 2021; based in Ulverston St Mary’s Hospice provides care and comfort for patients living with any life-shortening illness or long-term conditions and their family. Ben will be competing at the World Championships in Holland in 2021, to represent GB at the Ironman distance Triathlon.

This year the Playdale Charity Golf Day took place at Grange Over Sands Golf Club. Eighteen teams of four played a ‘Texas Scramble’ format and the tournament played out well, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves in the sunshine. Afterwards, it was into the clubhouse for food provided by the golf club, the raffle and some golfing reflection over a celebratory drink! (Celebrating a successful, enjoyable event)

2nd placed team – I. Jones, K Mutton, S. Wilson, F. Lacey

Inclusive playground design, done well, is invisible, not because it’s hidden, but because it’s so naturally woven into the design that no child has to think about it. They just play. Together.
