Redrow Homes needed to design a LEAP play area for their new housing development at Slade Green in Kent. We have previously worked with this office and other Redrow offices in the UK on similar projects.
The challenge for this project was to make use of the central grassed site by providing a safe environment for children within the community to play outside their homes. It also had to be exciting and challenging for all ages and abilities.
All the play items that went into this design were from our stainless steel ranges as it was essential that the equipment would be durable, hard wearing and require very little maintenance. This should ensure that the play area can be enjoyed by children living on and around this development for many years.
The above photograph displays the fantastic mix of play products catering for a wide range of ages that have been installed at Slade Green.
The Little City Seoul and the Big City Lisbon are from our Little City and Big City multi play system ranges, and as they are modular there are endless combinations that can be created to suit all needs and budgets.
The Inclusive Orbit offers a design that allows for exciting, inclusive play as children can enjoy spinning round as fast as they can together, no matter what their ability. They will enjoy exhilarating speed & movement, as well as teamwork and social interaction.
The Infant and Junior Swing set has two cradle seats and two flat seats meaning that all age ranges can enjoy them together.
The Board Rider and Rota Bounce, are hugely popular items from our ‘Movers’ range and really capture the exhilaration and movement of speed.
Children love the rotating net play of the Cone Climbers where they can climb as they turn.
Our Encounter teenage seating products really bridge the gap between children who need conventional play equipment to young teenagers who do not wish to be seen ‘playing’ but still need a facility where they can socialise.
The children in the area now have an exciting new play area that provides a range of activities, allowing them to challenge themselves and have fun. The parents in the area are delighted that they have a safe place for their children to play on their doorstep.

Planning a playground involves considerably more than choosing equipment. Playground Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Regular playground inspections and maintenance are the two most important responsibilities any playground operator carries.
