In response to obvious concern about the recent published findings revealing that paint on some playground equipment has been found to contain high quantities of the toxin lead, Playdale would like to reassure its customers, past and present, that our colour coating system is and always has been, totally lead and cadmium free.
All our paints used throughout our ranges are in full compliance with the requirements of BS EN 1176:2008 and the relevant sub clause for ‘Dangerous Substances’ stating their prohibited use in line with the latest appropriate European Directive; Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
Our Technical and Operations Director Paul Mallinson, who is a member of SW65; the UK Technical Committee for Playground Safety Standards, added, “This further supports the importance of third party certification which we hold on all our playground equipment. This is the ultimate proof of compliance.”
