We are delighted to announce that our Export Account Manager Stephanie Tootill reached a category final of the prestigious ‘Barclays North West Women In Business Awards’.
The North West of England’s top women in business have been recently celebrated at a recent awards event organised and run by Barclays Plc.
The awards attract nominations of senior businesswomen from businesses of all sizes and from all sectors across the North West. There were over a hundred nominations across seven categories including Stephanie Tootill, Playdale’s Export Account Manager.
Stephanie was delighted to have reached the category finals for the Rising Star Award and to then be one of the final three runners-up was a fantastic achievement. She feels passionate about this subject as she told us,
“When I was shortlisted for this award someone asked me ‘If we are fighting for equality why do we need a Women in Business awards?’ In 2018 we are marking 100 years since (some) women were allowed to vote. I work in an amazing company where 50% of the board members are female and the male/females ratio of employees is above the national target. I work in a company where women are encouraged, promoted, respected and listened to. It is easy to forget that this is not the case in every business, especially internationally. Therefore we still need to highlight the success of women across all sectors, champion equality and set the bar for other businesses and countries to follow. I am very proud to have been shortlisted for this award and to represent Playdale on such an important topic. I spent the day surrounded by some very inspiring people.”

All the award finalists have significantly contributed to the North West’s economy and it’s important that their contribution and achievements were recognised.
Well done to all and especially Stephanie!

Inclusive playground design, done well, is invisible, not because it’s hidden, but because it’s so naturally woven into the design that no child has to think about it. They just play. Together.
