Next month our MD Barry Leahey will don a pair of boxing gloves and enter the ring to take part in a physically and mentally gruelling charity challenge – Business Heavyweights 2018.
This charity ‘white collar’ boxing event sees high profile business leaders come face to face with their rivals and fight it out in the name of charity. Barry is always up for a challenge but even he admits that this is a big one! Being a boxing novice and wanting to put up a good fight on the night, he’s been undergoing a brutal and exhausting training programme. Combined with running a global business, travelling overseas and being a family man you could say he’s been rather busy! He’s making these sacrifices to ensure he’s fighting fit and will deliver on the night.
The short video below shows the lighter side of this heavyweight champ…
Barry is not only raising money for Playdale’s three 2018 charities: The Bendrigg Trust, Furness Young Carers and Ulverston Mind but also for The Seashell Trust, Booth Centre and Manchester Maccabi.
