Hardy’s Animal Farm visitor attraction near Skegness, Lincolnshire has recently installed an Everest Mountain Tower Plus…29 years after we designed and installed their original adventure playground! Now that’s what we call a loyal customer.
We are very pleased to report that the original timber equipment is still going strong almost three decades later! It’s fantastic that they have now added this adrenaline-packed new multiplay junior tower unit in the same area, injecting height, excitement and masses of new play value and features into the site.

1990 doesn’t really seem like that long ago to many of us (speak for myself!)and it definitely doesn’t for our Contracts Supervisor Mike Marsden who worked on the original playground installation of this (pictured) equipment, 29 years ago…and assisted with the installation of their big new Everest Mountain Tower a few months ago!

When Mike returned to Hardy’s there were plenty of familiar faces and members of the Hardy family he’d got to know well during the installation of the original playground. But he was quite taken aback when they went into a filing cabinet and produced the original plans and quotations from 1990, all in the original envelope that they were posted in!

A definite trip down memory lane for Mike and other Playdale staff who’ve been here since the business began in 1978. The images below demonstrate just how much progress has been made in terms of design thanks to technological advancements. Back then all our playground proposal plans were (lovingly) hand drawn with impeccable attention to detail…

Our 2D designs are now produced using special software and accompanying quotations are detailed, separate documents. These can all be quickly and easily amended and updated!
We absolutely love the way we produced picture sheets back then too, using printed photographs to showcase the products along with more beautifully detailed drawings!

Julie Hardy, Managing Director of Hardy’s said after the new Mountain Tower installation was complete, “We were extremely happy to be signed off the day before we opened for the new season and our young visitors have given it a big thumbs up. Thanks to everyone concerned.”
If you’re in and around Lincolnshire why not make your next day out at Hardy’s Animal Farm and try out both the old and new playgrounds for yourselves?! It’s a great day out whatever the weather with lots to do for all the family.
