Client: Ferry Meadows Caravan Club Site
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
There’s nothing better than a family holiday destination that really does have something for everyone, and makes every member of the family’s holiday more enjoyable and more memorable. When selecting a suitable venue to stay at, most families list a play area as an essential requirement for any caravan or holiday park. A play area of any size and type on a caravan park is an added bonus and great selling point, but if you have one with a wow factor you can really pull in the crowds!
The Caravan Club offers a superb choice of caravan parks and sites throughout the UK & Ireland and Playdale are delighted to be their chosen company who install and maintain the all-important play areas on their sites. The Caravan Club are committed to upgrading all their play areas to ensure they are befitting with the high standards of facilities throughout their sites and that they also adhere with the latest health and safety requirements. Playdale’s British manufactured equipment is not only fun but kitemarked too, ensuring the safety of all children and helping children have great holidays all year round.
Ferry Meadows Caravan Club Site is ideally located in a beautiful open country park and offers a perfect holiday destination for the whole family; steam trains, a lake to fish in, excellent cycle & walking trails plus a wide variety of sporting opportunities are all within easy reach. The country park offers two golf courses and a great Watersports Centre.
Ferry Meadows had existing playground facilities on a small play area but earlier this year felt the time had come to extend and improve the play facilities to attract more customers and increase bookings all year round. The general brief & objective was to design & build a family attraction that is in excess of what would be considered a ‘normal’ play area to provide the ultimate holiday destination for Caravan Club members with families.
Our playground design team set to work to create a brand new play area that first and foremost had a ‘wow’ factor, offered a fun, challenging & varied play experience for the whole family, was durable and easy to maintain and of course complied with all recognised safety and quality standards. The brand new facility opened in the Spring of this year, ready for the busy holiday months. These images show the majority of the equipment installed, providing play opportunities for all; from toddlers through to young teens.
We think you’ll agree, the end result is pretty spectacular!

The project which was completed back in the Spring – ready for the busier months – has had great reviews so far from Ferry Meadow guests and the site manager tells us that it has made such a difference to the site. It’s super popular and has already markedly boosted bookings, especially during the school holiday periods.
