Celebrating Past & Present Apprentice Success!

This week marked the 15th annual National Apprenticeship Week, a week-long celebration of 2022 apprenticeships.

The theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week is ‘build the future; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

Apprenticeships aren’t just a fantastic way to start a career but a fantastic opportunity for businesses to invest in employees’ personal and professional skills.

Playdale have always been a great advocate of apprentices, especially in the past year when more than 20% of the workforce started or completed an apprenticeship.

We are proud to celebrate the exceptional #TEAM we have at Playdale and what they have accomplished in the past year during the pandemic.

Fabrication & Welding Apprenticeship

Within our fabrication and welding team, we currently have three apprentices Charlie York, Lee McGirk & Jamie Noren who are based at our Fabrication facility in Ulverston. They are working alongside experienced Playdale staff, gaining invaluable job-specific skills. They are currently completing their apprenticeship in Fabrication which, once completed, they can immediately use for the benefit of themselves, Playdale Playgrounds, and the economy.

Jonathan Hutton started at Playdale with level 2 & 3 apprenticeships which have allowed him to progress within his career. He is currently in the process of completing his HNC, due to finish in May.

Emma Simpson, our Production Controller, is currently completing her level 3 NVQ in Business Improvement. She has already applied her skills by streamlining production processes, reducing waste, and saving costs across the business.

Nicola Johnson, our Procurement Assistant, is currently completing her Level 4 NVQ through the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. She has already completed seven out of the eight exams and is well on her way to successfully graduating as a procurement professional.

Team leading & Leadership Apprenticeship

Finally, we have our Level 3 & 5 graduates who have recently completed their qualifications in Management and Leadership.

We are extremely proud of what these individuals have accomplished and how they will be implementing these newfound skills and knowledge in the workplace. The success of our apprenticeships has allowed us to diversify the roles across the business and develop individuals further in their careers.
