Picnic & Play This Summer in Kent

Picnic & Play…in Kent

Welcome to Playdale’s Picnic and Play guide for 2025, created to help families find exciting parks over the summer holidays!  Firstly, we have made sure that all these parks feature a fantastic selection of playground equipment. Including spaces to relax over a picnic during the summer holidays.

This week, we are travelling to ‘The Garden of England’ Kent, where Mike Stevens (our Area Sales Manager for the South East and Greater London) has suggested not one, but as many as SIX family-friendly parks and playgrounds for you to try.

There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the South East and the rest of the UK, so you won’t struggle to find one near you.

Pegwell Bay Country Park

A256 Sandwich Rd, Cliffsend, Ramsgate CT12 5JB (what3words: input.bulge.user)

Pegwell Bay forms part of the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve. Moreover, it offers stunning views, a play area, picnic area, and mobile refreshments, making it a great day out for all the family.

We installed the play area in a fantastic location with views of the national nature reserve and the sea. Therefore, it is fitting for there to be nautical-themed equipment, such as play ships in green that blend in with the park and spark children’s imaginations.

In addition, the play area was designed to include a variety of inclusive elements of play, including a junior multi-play unit, an Inclusive Orbit roundabout, and inclusive picnic tables for families to picnic and play together.

Manor Park Country Park

St. Leonards St, West Malling ME19 6PE (what3words: assorted.unearthly.topics)

Manor Park, formerly a country estate, offers a diverse range of natural environments. Ranging from, wildflower meadows to forests and a tranquil lake! In addition, Manor Park has a café offering delicious local food, a children’s play area and historical points of interest. Making it a wonderful place to spend a family day out. The green hues of the junior and toddler playground equipment mix in beautifully with the natural surroundings of the park.

Teston Bridge Country Park

Teston Ln, Teston, Maidstone ME18 5BX (what3words: birthdays.spite.scorching)

Teston Bridge Country Park is one of the best places to go for a walk along a rural river. The park includes a play area and plenty of idyllic picnic spots. Making it the perfect place for a family day out. At this location, Playdale installed a Play Ship and a nautical-themed toddler multi-play tower while retaining a natural feel to the playground with timber equipment and natural colours.

Shorne Wood Country Park

Brewers Rd, Shorne, Gravesend DA12 3HX (what3words: pies.modest.kinds)

Shorne Woods Country Park has everything you need to spend a day enjoying the best of the countryside. Featuring a visitor centre and restaurant, fishing lakes and picnic and play areas, there’s something for everyone! The play area includes a selection of equipment for all ages, including a variety of inclusive play elements.

Trosley Country Park

Waterlow Rd, Vigo, Vigo Village, Gravesend DA13 0SG (what3words: metals.judges.supply)

With spectacular views over the North Downs, this 170-acre country park is home to a fantastic playground. Additionally, there is a café serving delicious homemade food, perfect for a picnic. The play area blends in wonderfully with the natural environment. Creating a relaxing woodland play space for a fun and imaginative day out.

Brockhill Country Park

Sandling Rd, Hythe, Saltwood CT21 4HL (what3words: realm.sensibly.respected)

Brockhill’s lake, woods and meadows make it a great spot for a family day out. Especially when you take into account the Brockhill Café and play areas! The playground features both junior and toddler equipment as well as inclusive equipment like Loudspeakers and an Inclusive Orbit roundabout making it a fun and exciting place to play for all ages.

No matter whether you live in Kent, are visiting, or just passing through, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Pack yourself a picnic, and don’t miss the opportunity to visit these playgrounds for an unforgettable day out this summer!
