Picnic & Play This Summer in Suffolk

Picnic & Play… in Suffolk

Welcome to Playdale’s Picnic and Play guide for 2025, created to help families find exciting parks over the summer holidays! Firstly, we have made sure that all these parks feature a fantastic selection of playground equipment. Including spaces to relax over a picnic during the summer holidays.

This week we are travelling to the coastal county of Suffolk, where Dominic Meylan-Stevenson (our Area Sales Manager for East Anglia and Warwickshire) has suggested TWO family-friendly parks and playground for you to try.

There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the South East and the rest of the UK, so you won’t struggle to find one near you.

Cordell Park

Cordell Place, Long Melford, Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 9EN (what3words: verb.skies.dimes)

Situated on the border of Suffolk, Long Melford has become home to an exciting public green space. It features a fantastic new playground installed this year, just in time for summer fun!

The playground itself includes our best-selling Inclusive Orbit and an Antwerp Plus multi-play unit from our Big City Plus range– catering for children of all ages and abilities! The park is just a 10-minute walk from the village, making it easy to grab some food and drink on your way. Once you arrive, you can lay out a picnic blanket and tuck into some tasty snacks.

Reydon Recreation Ground

Reydon Recreation Ground, Cox’s Lane, Reydon, IP18 6QJ (what3words: leaky.coconuts.twitches )

Just a stones throw away from the coast, this playground shows off a fantastic selection of equipment. Making it perfect for letting off some steam over the summer. It features not one, but two of our Aerial Runways inspiring children to race each other to the finish line, giving them a rush of adrenaline before dashing back up to go again!

In addition, the playground includes one of our Jungle Climbers Amazon units- ideal for those who prefer climbing and exploring to racing or swinging. This unit offers a perfect blend of challenge and relaxed play.

Similarly to the previous playground, this one is situated on a large playing field. Creating the ideal environment for a kick-about with a football on the pitch. Alternatively, it’s a great spot for enjoying a scrumptious homemade picnic on the sidelines. And if you don’t feel like packing a lunch, don’t worry—there are local shops nearby where you can grab a snack.

Whether you live in Suffolk, visiting or just passing through, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Pack yourself a picnic, and don’t miss the opportunity to visit these playgrounds for an unforgettable day out this summer!
