#Team Playdale recently hosted a remarkable charity night to raise awareness and funds for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). The event, held at The Anglers Arms in Haverthwaite on Friday 13th October brought together community members and Playdale employees for a night of quiz, standup bingo and lots of laughter.
The whole event raised a fantastic £300 to further support the NSPCC.
The NSPCC are the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK. 1 in 5 children in the UK has experienced abuse which can affect their health, education and future employment prospects. Others are facing loneliness, isolation, relationship issues and anxiety. The NSPCC works in communities across the country, through Childline, the NSPCC adult helpline, NSPCC Schools Service and run children and family centres.
The success of the night was also contributed to friends of Playdale- dynamic quiz masters Gill and Ken Newsome. They introduced some truly mind-boggling rounds, including an NSPCC-themed segment, a picture round, and a local Furness Peninsula challenge that left everyone pondering and scratching their heads.
First Place: Smarty Pints
The fun didn’t end there… we amped up the laughter with stand-up bingo and for the grand finale, a fabulous raffle. There was a huge selection of fantastic prizes up for grabs.
The night’s remarkable success would not have been achievable without the invaluable support of the amazing and generous prizes which were donated by local businesses and individuals.
On behalf of Playdale and the NSPCC, we would like to express our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all the Playdale members, Haverthwaite locals, sponsors, and volunteers who played an essential role in ensuring the resounding success of this event. Your invaluable contributions and unwavering support were instrumental in creating a truly memorable experience.
