Strengthening Our Commitment to Sustainability with FSC® Certification

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important consideration for organisations investing in outdoor play spaces. Whether planning a new school playground, community space, leisure destination or residential development, many customers are looking for products that support responsible procurement and environmental stewardship.

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices, Playdale Playgrounds has achieved Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody Certification (FSC® C227343).

What Does FSC® Chain of Custody Certification Mean?

The Forest Stewardship Council® is an internationally recognised organisation that promotes responsible forest management. FSC® certification helps provide assurance that certified forest-based materials originate from responsibly managed sources and can be traced through every stage of the supply chain.

Chain of Custody Certification is a robust verification process that tracks FSC® certified materials from forest to finished product. Through independent auditing and ongoing compliance requirements, certified organisations demonstrate that certified materials are managed, documented and controlled throughout their operations.

Supporting More Sustainable Playground Projects

For many schools, local authorities, housing developers and community organisations, sustainability now plays a key role in procurement decisions. FSC® certification provides an additional level of confidence for customers seeking products supported by transparent sourcing practices.

Achieving certification forms part of Playdale’s wider commitment to responsible manufacturing and continuous environmental improvement. By strengthening supply chain transparency, we can help customers align playground projects with their own sustainability objectives.

A Milestone in Playdale’s Sustainability Journey

Playdale has a long history of working with timber, with the Croasdale family’s involvement in forestry and timber-related industries dating back to 1735. Today, that heritage continues through the design and manufacture of innovative playground equipment from our Cumbria headquarters.

Achieving FSC® Chain of Custody Certification represents another important step in our sustainability journey. It reflects our commitment to responsible sourcing while helping to ensure future generations can continue to benefit from the natural resources on which our industry depends.

As we continue to develop inspiring outdoor play environments for communities across the UK and around the world, sustainability will remain an important consideration in how we design, manufacture and deliver our products.

Playdale Playgrounds holds FSC® Chain of Custody Certification (FSC® C227343). FSC® Certified products are available upon request.
