Swimming and Skydiving for Smiles

Members of #Team Playdale have come together in a big effort to raise over £3000 for one of our chosen good causes for 2022: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity Children’s Appeal.

Our CEO, Barry and Design Engineer Greg braced the cold waters at the Three sisters Water Ski centre to complete a 1-mile swim, Barry exceeded his original goal by swimming 1.5 miles in total, half a mile further than he had planned! Our Marketing Coordinator Hannah took to the skies jumping 15,000 feet and freefalling at over 120mph.

We’ve also raised awareness and funds through bake sales, clothing donations, and a recent summer BBQ!

The Children’s Appeal aims to raise £1 million to create a bright, friendly, and appealing environment for all children visiting hospitals across Lancashire. they provide children and their families with the best possible care and experience from the moment they arrive.

Barry  said “As CEO of a play company, I know only too well the importance of play on emotional and physical development and last year I was honoured to become Patron of the ambitious £1m Children’s appeal at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Once I visited the wards, I knew I was going to do my bit, I am lucky enough to be able to do physical challenges such as the Great North Swim to help such a fantastic cause.”
