Last night in London, Playdale were announced the winner of the National Business Exporter of the Year Award at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Worldpay UK Business Awards. The event was held at the QEII Conference Centre, just outside the Houses of Parliament.
There were approximately 1000 SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) that registered which is a reassuring sign of business confidence in this sector of the economy.
We were shortlisted, along with three other companies, for the Exporter of the Year award which celebrates ‘businesses showing exceptional export achievements, contributing to both the regional and wider UK economy’.
Host for the evening was Tim Campbell MBE who was the first winner of The Apprentice and founder of the Bright Ideas Trust. The award was presented to Playdale’s MD, Barry Leahey and Chairman, John Croasdale by Sandra Dexter, the FSB’s National Vice Chairperson (pictured above).
Playdale’s MD Barry Leahey said upon winning the award, “To be shortlisted is a fantastic achievement in itself but to then be announced winner is something else. The Playdale team efforts to deliver products globally has been recognised at not just county and regional level, but now at a national level too. What a testament to all the hard work and dedication that all of the Playdale Playgrounds team has put into developing our business internationally over the past few years.”
