Clydey Cottages is a family holiday resort in the North Pembrokeshire countryside in Wales. It’s made up of a cluster of holiday cottages, services and facilities that include a swimming pool, spa, playroom, woodlands, smallholding and children’s club. They now also have a fantastic new outdoor play area with exciting, safe and challenging equipment for all ages and abilities.
Jacqui Davies from Clydey contacted us to request a catalogue, and at the same time arranged one of Playdale’s free, no-obligation consultancy and site survey appointments. Our Area Manager for Wales met with Jacqui on-site, to discuss her project, her specific requirements and conduct a survey.
Various equipment options and combinations were discussed during the consultation. The play area proposal was then designed and drawn up by our design team at head office. This included a scaled plan, tailored quotation, 3D artist’s impression (below) and photographic visuals.
All the equipment included is made from our natural (laminated) timbers with panels and details in blended green hues which could not be more sympathetic / aesthetically sensitive to its natural rural surroundings.
The order was placed and once the equipment was manufactured at our UK based factory and head office in Cumbria it was delivered to site and installation began!
The equipment included in the design included: a New Wave Plus junior multi-play unit from our Jukebox Plus range, a Two Bay Junior Swing with inclusive team seat, flat junior seat and an interactive Tango seat (for toddlers and parent/carer), a Clatter Bridge, Cross Beams, Zig Zag Stepper from our Adventure Trail range and also a themed Play Tractor with Trailer for rural role-play fun. Grasslok interlocking rubber tiles were used to provide safety surfacing beneath the equipment. These tiles still allow the existing grass to grow through and the area can be mown in the usual way.
Providing an outdoor play facility like this at any size holiday resort can increase bookings, revenue, repeat custom and will always encourage positive word of mouth recommendations for families looking for that perfect destination with plenty to entertain the children!
