Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula. It covers an area of 2.6 square miles and shares its northern border with Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the major landmark of the region. At the foot of the rock is a densely populated city area, home to over 30,000 Gibraltarians and other nationalities.

Playdale was delighted to be contacted by Magnus Kessack of Gibraltar Joinery & Building Services Ltd  to tender for four  new playground projects within the Four Corners Residential Community.  These play areas are part of a project that will provide new housing, play areas and other community facilities and amenities for the residents and their families.

The client was looking for a wide variety of equipment as the new play areas would be central community hubs used by many local children of a wide age range.

Magnus narrowed the final choice down to three playground providers, but within this tender process, Playdale offered the most competitively priced, highest quality equipment.  We were delighted to be the successful, chosen company to provide equipment in all four play areas within the Four Corners Residential Community project.

The order was placed, the equipment manufactured and the container then filled and shipped off down to Gibraltar!

Play Park Area 4 was the first to be installed and as you can see from the images is a fantastic new play facility for this community which will be enjoyed by many families’ children for years to come.

The equipment selected for this play area includes a Play Train, a Timber Junior Swing, a Noughts and Crosses Play Panel, an Indie Plus junior play unit from our Jukebox Plus range, a City Seat stainless steel bench, a couple of stainless steel City Litter Bins , two of our timber Lakeland Picnic Tables, a Sandbox, Scramble Climbers A & B, Wavy Bars, Burma Bridge, Mushroom Seats and a Timber Team Swing with green seat.

Following the installation of this first play area Magnus told us “We found working with Playdale an effortless and simple process. Pricing was very competitive and once we had placed our orders, the service was second to none. Prompt responses to all communication and design changes were quickly actioned and amended as necessary with minimal fuss. The 3D pictures of the proposed designs were presented very professionally and gave both ourselves and the client a much better understanding of how the finished products would look like. We will have no hesitation in contacting Playdale again for future projects!”

We’re delighted that this large community now has a great new focal point for residents to play, chat and socialise in. We think this first site looks fantastic and are looking forward to seeing photos of the other three!
