Picnic & Play In Staffordshire

Picnic & Play… in Staffordshire

Welcome to Playdale’s Picnic and Play guide for 2025, created to help families find exciting parks over the school holidays!  We have made sure that all these parks are equipped with a fantastic selection of playground equipment and spaces to relax over a picnic.

This week we are travelling to Staffordshire, a county filled with plenty of diverse attractions! Our Area Sales Manager for the North West, Jordan Kowalewicz has suggested a fantastic trio of family-friendly parks and playgrounds for you to try.

There are of course many more Playdale playgrounds across the North West and the rest of the UK, so you won’t struggle to find one near you.

Forsbrook Playground

34 Mount Rd, Blythe Bridge, Stoke-on-Trent ST11 9PZ (what3words: smallest.projects.liberated)

A spacious outdoor playground with a grass field featuring a Timebr Aerial Runway in the foreground. The zip line has two tall wooden poles connected by a steel cable and a platform at the start. In the background, there are more play structures and small mounds of grass, part of a bike or scooter track. A winding paved path curves through the park, surrounded by trees with early autumn foliage under an overcast sky.

Situated in the suburbs of Stoke-on-Trent, this playground is packed full of fun activities for the whole family.

Children can enjoy a wide range of exciting features, including an Aerial Runway, Team Swing, and an Adventure Trail. With plenty more to discover from our playground equipment ranges!

Additionally, make sure you remember to bring your bikes (and helmets!) to make the most of the nearby pump track, which offers a thrilling ride just next to the main play area.

The Park includes a fantastic green space, perfect for a kickabout or for children to burn off some energy. Before settling down for a lovely picnic on one of their many benches spread across the park.

For adults or older children, there’s a selection of outdoor fitness equipment set slightly apart from the playground. Making it ideal for a quick workout before a leisurely picnic.

Bell Orchard Playground

22 Bell Orchard, Ashley, Market Drayton TF9 4JW (what3words: asserts.pulse.expecting)

A small, neatly kept playground surrounded by trees and greenery. In the foreground, there is a Mini Orbiter on the grass. Further back, a Woodland Eco Towers multi-play unit with platforms and climbing elements stands on a grasslok safety surface. To the right, a set of swings, including a basket Team Swing seat, Junior seat, and Toddler seat, with a rotating stand-up spinner visible. A Timber Sheep Springer is positioned on the left. The area is bordered by fencing and bushes, with an overcast sky and autumn leaves scattered across the grass.

Tucked away in the village of Ashley, this playground offers a fantastic variety of play opportunities for families of all ages and abilities.

Children can enjoy one of our 2-Bay Swings, complete with a team swing, cradle seat, and junior seat, ensuring there’s something for everyone to join fun!

The Woodland Eco Towers Avenue unit invites children to explore both their physical and imaginative capabilities, while the Mini Orbiter adds an extra element of excitement for those who are looking for some sensory stimulation.

A nearby bench provides a comfortable spot for parents to sit back and relax as their children play, and it also makes a lovely place to enjoy a snack or picnic after a fun-filled day.

Drayton Bassett Playground

3 Rectory Cl, Drayton Bassett, Tamworth B78 3UH (what3words: pool.puppy.create)

A collage of four images showing different playground equipment in a large grassy park. Top left: A brightly coloured Little City multi-play unit with pink, orange, and green panels, featuring two metal slides and climbing elements, with picnic tables in the background. Top right: A selection of stainless steel playground equipment, including a basket Team Swing set, Swing Barriers, and a spinning Rota Bounce rider. There is a bench in the background surrounded by trees and a Multi-Use Games Area. Bottom left: A traditional stainless steel swing set with two junior seats on a steel frame, surrounded by open grass and trees. Bottom right: A stainless steel climbing and agility frame with purple and yellow panels, monkey bars, and hanging elements, positioned beside dense green foliage.

A short distance away from Drayton Manor Resort, this park is a perfect alternative to escape the rush. The play area features a range of equipment from our stainless steel range, all designed to test children’s skills and keep them active.

For those who would rather spend time playing sports, there’s also a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) for you to enjoy. Just don’t forget to bring your own sports equipment along with you!

There is a footpath that surrounds the park. An ideal option to keep yourself moving while your children play. After your stroll around the park, you should take advantage of its large green space. You’re truly spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the perfect place for a picnic!

Three young girls, one wearing a long-sleeved grey shirt with long brown hair in a ponytail, another wearing a long-sleeved pink shirt with mid-length brown hair tied in a pony tail, wearing glasses. And the last wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt with blonde hair tied in a ponytail. They are sat at a wooden picnic table in a grassy park, smiling and chatting. The sunny day and green trees create a joyful, relaxed atmosphere.

Whether you live in Staffordshire, visiting or just passing through. Pack yourself a picnic and don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit these fantastic playgrounds. Especially if you are looking for an unforgettable day out!
